Well, for the past few weeks I've been bowling pretty horrendously.
The cause for this, or at least why I think I'm having the problems, is because the house I bowl at is fairly old. It doesn't have one of those new fancy oiling machines. Our machine still uses the old wick deal... well, recently the owner replaced the wick to a new one. Ever since then, my ball has been over-reacting something fierce.
Granted, my ball reaction has always been fairly aggressive at this house, but recently it's been almost impossible to control, even with a weak wrist position, etc. As an example of how bad it's been... my average was 195 - I rolled an impressive 114. This horrendous bowling went on for about two or three weeks. It's starting to get a bit better now, I managed to pull out a 609 last week and a 575 this week.
I do have a less aggressive ball, however, I recently picked up two new balls - a MoRich Awesome Hook and a Hammer No Mercy. I was rolling a Vendetta Particle-Pearl, which is what I should be using at my house recently. However, the reason why I haven't is because when I got the two new balls, I had them drilled with the removable/interchangeable thumb grip. My Vendetta doesn't have this, and I've just been too lazy to get it done.
So, I guess it's my own damn fault for not being motivated enough to get the Vendetta re-drilled. Oh well...
